Set against the backdrop of the beautiful Mediterranean, “Gone” is Lina WertmΓΌller’s most famous and controversial film about sex, love and politics. On a glamorous yacht cruising off the coast of Sardinia, Raffaella (Mariangela Melato), a rich and glamorous capitalist, amuses herself by tormenting Gennarino (Giancarlo Giannini), a communist sailor. Fate paints a different picture and the roles are reversed when they both end up together on a deserted island.
